Kari N. Thames, EA MBA

I joined RM in 2005 after earning my bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on accounting from Davenport University. I quickly found my passion of advocating for clients that encounter various tax issues with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the State of Michigan, and have been doing that ever since. During my tenure at RM I continued my education at Davenport University earning a master’s degree in business administration as well as the IRS designation of Enrolled Agent, empowering me to represent taxpayers before the Department of Treasury. I am also a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and serve as the expert resource in my field with Legal Aid of West Michigan.

My core value is to serve each client with the quality and excellence I expect to receive from any professional I hire. I tailor my services to provide the best resolution for each unique case and walk with every client to the finish line.

As the youngest of 9 children, I have a deep love and appreciation for family and cherish the time we get to spend together. I’ve also been blessed with a wonderful husband and best friend of 25 years as well as a son and daughter that have enriched my life in countless ways.

I love to vacation in Florida and Arizona- maybe I’ll become a “snowbird” someday!
